General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison Moves Toward Next Chapter
As Drew Cain’s descent into darkness continues on General Hospital, his portrayer, Cameron Mathison, is embracing a new chapter in his personal life. After tragically losing his home in the devastating LA wildfires, Mathison has remained remarkably positive and recently shared an uplifting update with fans.
Finding a New Home
Taking to Instagram, Mathison expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he’s received, writing, “Quick life update! Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this challenging time. I appreciate all of you deeply and will never forget how you helped me start to piece my new life together. Love you all, Cam.”
In a heartfelt video, he opened up about his journey since the fire, revealing that the initial weeks were tough, but he now has a new place to call home. His current residence is a multi-level rental in Silver Lake, California, complete with a rooftop cold plunge for ice baths. Mathison also showed off a small Buddha statue he was able to salvage from his previous home, along with a couch gifted by his close friend Eva LaRue (Natalia). Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the kindness of those who provided him with essentials like dishes, towels, sheets, and clothing. “So much kindness and generosity,” he said, “and I just wanted to say thanks to everybody.”
The Power of Friendship
Mathison emphasized that rebuilding his life has been an enormous challenge, but the support from loved ones has made all the difference. “I really do love you guys,” he shared, addressing his fans, friends, and well-wishers. His former General Hospital co-stars also chimed in with messages of encouragement—Kelly Thiebaud (ex-Britt) sent a heart emoji, which Mathison doubled in response. Finola Hughes (Anna) and former GH star Tamara Braun (now Ava on Days of Our Lives) also shared their love and support.
Fans Share Their Encouragement
Mathison’s positive update was met with an outpouring of love from fans. One commented, “So glad to see you have a place. I can’t even imagine what you and your family have been through with such a loss. I love that you are getting so much support. ❤️” Another follower summed up the sentiment perfectly, writing, “Such wonderful friends and people in this world! Happy you got a new place too! 🙏🏼.”
As Mathison continues to rebuild, his resilience and gratitude remain at the forefront, proving that even in the face of adversity, the support of friends, family, and fans can make all the difference.
