Home and Away’s heartbreaking revelation: ‘He never says he loves me’

Tane Parata and Harper Matheson’s relationship is facing its biggest test yet in Home and Away, as Harper struggles with a painful realization—Tane has never told her he loves her.

The couple, who are expecting a baby together following a one-night stand, have been trying to move beyond their co-parenting dynamic and build a real relationship. While they’ve successfully worked together to prepare for their baby boy’s arrival, the emotional side of their relationship has been far less certain. Harper can’t shake the feeling that something is missing, while Tane appears to be ignoring the issue entirely.

This week, Australian viewers saw them clear one major hurdle when they finally reached a decision about their wedding. Though Harper initially held back on her dream ceremony, Tane ultimately agreed to a more elaborate event, seemingly putting them on the same page at last.

But a newly released trailer suggests their troubles are far from over.

In the promo, Harper opens up about the heartbreaking truth that has been weighing on her—Tane has never once said those three little words.

“He is the kindest, sweetest man, and I should be over the moon,” she confesses. “But he hasn’t once said that he loves me.”

She goes on to admit that she keeps waiting for the moment when he’ll finally say it, but it never comes. The more time passes, the more she worries that Tane is only staying with her because of the baby.

Meanwhile, Cash Newman steps in and urges Tane to confront his feelings, directly asking him: “Are you happy? Are you in love with Harper?”

Now, the big question remains—how will Tane respond? Will he finally open up about his emotions, or is this the moment they both have to face the truth?
