Next week on Home and Away: Harper and Tane’s relationship hits a rough patch
Things aren’t looking so smooth for Harper Matheson and Tane Parata next week on Home and Away, as Harper is forced to confront the growing strain in their relationship.
Despite their commitment to co-parenting their unborn son, Harper and Tane are struggling to define what they mean to each other beyond their shared responsibility. While they’ve managed to coordinate their parenting plans, the emotional connection between them remains uncertain.
Sensing the tension, Harper confides in her sister, Dana, admitting that she’s finding it increasingly difficult to bond with Tane. While she hopes to build something more meaningful, Tane seems entirely focused on her pregnancy, leaving little room for anything else.
Dana suggests an unconventional solution—why not ban any talk of the baby for 24 hours? The idea is to give Harper and Tane the chance to connect on a deeper level, without the looming presence of their impending parenthood dominating every conversation.
Intrigued by the idea, Harper puts the challenge to Tane. However, what starts as an attempt to bridge the gap between them only results in awkward silence. Harper soon realizes that their initial friendship revolved around Tane’s past struggles, including the baby kidnapping case and his mentorship of Perri Hayes. Now that things have settled down, Tane barely knows anything about Harper as a person, making their conversations feel forced and unnatural.
Determined to push through the discomfort, Harper and Tane agree to share a meal together, hoping to break the cycle of awkwardness. As they sit down for lunch, Harper finally gets the chance to open up about herself, offering Tane a glimpse into her life beyond their co-parenting arrangement.
Could this moment mark a turning point for them? Or will their differences prove too much to overcome?
